Award-winning luxury accommodation

Lilycombe Farm was previously a dairy farm and the properties are sympathetically restored from old Mendip stone agricultural buildings. Rated as Five Star with Gold Awards, each of the three properties is well designed with comfort in mind. The beds are super comfortable, and each cottage is well equipped. The kitchens have modern appliances including induction hob, dishwasher (two in Jack’s Barn) and washer/dryer. The properties are planned with privacy as a priority: each has its own drive, parking, and garden to play in. WiFi is very fast, so streaming films is easy. There is plenty of space for outdoor games, or there’s table tennis and table football inside.

Lilycombe’s three properties accommodate 4 people, 8 people and 10 people (plus cots). They can be booked separately or combined together for larger family groups, within reach of each other but with a little helpful separation. The dining table in Jack’s Barn can seat up to 22.

Plan ahead to book massage therapy, beauty therapy or a professional chef. Or, when you arrive, book yourselves in for exclusive private use of the swimming pool or cinema.

Swimming Pool

Holiday cottages with an indoor pool of this quality are very rare. The pool is bigger (and better) than many hotel pools and has the added plus that you can enjoy its use in private, just for your family and friends. It is 15 metres long – enough for proper exercise. The water is kept at 30 degrees and the atmosphere in the pool hall is fully air conditioned. It feels like summer all year round.

Things to Do

The swimming pool provides the ultimate all-weather activity, whether for some brisk early morning exercise or for a leisurely evening with music and a glass of wine. The cinema feels like a family outing without the need to go anywhere and toys and games keep children happy when screen time is rationed. The Therapy Room is available for pre-booked treatments and massage too. A quiet exploration of the six acre bluebell wood may be rewarded with sightings of badgers, buzzards, kites, rabbits or deer.

Beyond Lilycombe, there is the best of Somerset to experience, from simple pleasures like Market Day in Wells, through to Bath’s World Heritage Roman Baths. Check our listings of things to do – there really is no excuse for boredom.
